Creamy lemon shrimp pasta

by Effy A

If you’re looking for an incredible dinner which is full of sauce and pizzaz, try this creamy lemon shrimp pasta. It is so easy and ready in no time! I used rigatoni pasta for this recipe but penne and fusilli work wonders for this recipe as well. This meal is highly recommended for a cozy night in for two!

What types of pasta can I use?

For other short pasta recommendations have a look at this article. Longer pasta would also work fine. Boil it first and then add it to the shrimp sauce later. You can also serve this separately aka without tossing the pasta in the shrimp sauce. I do not recommend leftovers because the sauce thickens up as time goes on.

The shrimp is so easy to cook and usually takes less than 10 minutes to cook through. It is seasoned with basil, salt, onion powder and garlic. I also squeezed a bit of lemon juice for a slightly acidic taste to the sauce. You can marinate the shrimp better by refrigerating it overnight for a better taste. Once you fry the shrimp in butter and garlic, remove it from the saucepan and set it aside. Make the cream sauce immediately in the same pan so that it tastes better. This lemon shrimp pasta sauce has lots of butter, cream, onions and garlic.
