Lavender iced tea lemonade

by Effy A

Happy Valentine’s Day! This lavender iced tea lemonade is too bomb! It comes with a homemade lavender syrup which smells absolutely divine and takes this lavender drink to the next level. I used dried lavender buds and boiled them with equal parts water and granulated sugar. Then the syrup was strained after one or two hours where it looks dark purple in colour. This iced tea lemonade is one of my favorite types of iced tea where it is both tart and sweet.

Making the lavender syrup

One thing I love to make on the blog is a mean syrup. This lavender syrup is so unique in taste and so perfect when combined with the tart lemonade. I don’t recommend this lavender syrup with milder drinks like iced tea or iced coffee. You boil equal parts lavender buds with sugar and water. I used dried lavender flower buds and steeped them in the boiling sugar mixture. Strain and store this lavender syrup for at least 4 days in a dry, clean mason jar.

What tea should I use?

Great tea options for making iced tea include rooibos tea, ceylon tea and jasmine tea. You steep the tea bags in hot water as well and mix it with the lavender syrup, squeezed lemon juice and lots of chilled water. Refrigerate this lavender iced tea lemonade for a while to make it taste better. Other lemonade recipes to consider on the blog are:
