Lemonade soda step-by-step

by Effy A

Sparkling lemonade soda is never a bad idea when it is the first week of the spring season. These are very crisp and as sweet as what you can grab at the grocery store. Freshly-squeezed lemonade is the secret to any delicious lemonade. I actually prefer using a citrus reamer than a citrus squeezer because you get more juice and pulp that way. However, either works.

You will need lots of sugar in this lemonade soda-I’m talking one cup or more worth of sugar. This is because the lemon juice is really sour, plus you will be diluting it with tons of water plus club soda. If you want more depth to your lemonade you can use flavored simple syrups. You can experiment with the simple syrup by incorporating fresh herbs like mint or rosemary, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves or citrus fruits. Here are some fun flavored syrups to try:

I used two cans of club soda for this soda and it is what gives it that authentic, sparkling texture. I like to keep all my ingredients super chilled prior to making my lemonade. You can also use any other lemonade recipes to turn it into a soda. Happy spring everyone!
