Blackberry rosé punch for New Years!

by Effy A

A blackberry rosé wine punch to celebrate the first Thirsty Thursday of the year! Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas season. I was craving mimosas this week but I didn’t want to get champagne. Instead I wanted to drink rosé wine to celebrate the new year. So that’s how this delicious blackberry rosé punch came about. It has lots of lemon, orange liqueur and tons of sparkling rosé wine. It tastes fruity but this cocktail will knock you out in no time. You can serve this straight or on the rocks (with ice).

To rim the glasses, I poured a few tablespoons of maple syrup on a flat plate. I also added a handful of colorful sprinkles. Then I dipped the wine glass into the maple syrup and then into the sprinkles. This is of course entirely optional. But I highly recommend this for a festive New Year spirit. It makes the cocktail look very pretty too!

To get started on the cocktail, grab a carton of fresh raspberries and squeeze a fresh lemon with a citrus squeezer/juicer. Muddle the blackberries with the orange liqueur (triple sec) and freshly squeezed lemon juice. A good choice for triple sec is Cointreau. I actually didn’t use simple syrup for this recipe but you can totally add some if you want a sweeter vibe. This cocktail recipe makes 2-4 servings depending on if you use ice or not to serve this. This is great for toasting during any New Year parties you have planned. Cheers!
