Blue margarita on the rocks

by Effy A

This blue margarita is very vibrant and serves Into The Blue vibes. This recipe was originally released in the summer but we have relaunched so here we are. It gets the lovely blue color from blue curaçao liquor and silver tequila is used to enhance the clear look. It’s quite sweet and easy to down this cocktail very quickly. Highly recommend this for sweet cocktail drinkers like myself!

Some tips for a great blue margarita

  • Rim your glasses: I use coarse salt but Himalayan salt also works.
  • Use fresh limes: invest in a hand held citrus squeezer if you don’t have one. Cocktails always taste better with freshly-squeezed lime or lemon juice.
  • A mason jar works too: if you don’t have a cocktail shaker, a mason jar will do the trick. Mason jars come with lids so you can shake your margarita in that too.

And as always, just serve this blue margarita chilled. Some people omit the ice cubes for a margarita but it is absolutely a necessity for me. That’s why this recipe is dubbed “Blue margarita on the rocks” as a warning. You can find an equally sweet margarita with my pineapple cranberry margarita recipe. Happy drinking!
