These boozy orange watermelon slushies are so incredible! I’m still living in the tropics so here are some whiskey watermelon slushies. These slushies are really refreshing and perfect even for wintry months. The key thing is to keep the watermelon frozen so it can have a thick, frozen texture. Slushies are so perfect for the hot weather in my city so enjoy!
Watermelon is packed with tons of nutrients, reduces inflammation, and keeps you hydrated and aids in skin health. I used half a watermelon but you can use the entire thing. Watermelons tend to be full of seeds so you try to pick them out as much as possible before freezing. Seedless ones are also available. I highly recommend freezing the watermelon for at least 12 hours. I like to remove the shell, then chop the watermelon into cubes or slices. You can keep the watermelon chunks in a ziplock bag and crush it lightly before adding it to a high-speed blender. These slushies are best served very chilled, and I literally do not recommend leftovers.
Another watermelon drink on the blog is the homemade watermelon juice recipe. If you prefer non-boozy slushies, check out my celery pineapple slushy and strawberry kiwi slushy.
