Milo chocolate truffles

by Effy A

Chocolate truffles are a decadent sweet of chocolate ganache rolled in cocoa powder, nuts or coconut. They are firm balls with a chewy chocolate center. These Milo truffles are so yummy and not to sweet. Milo is a malt-flavored hot chocolate powder which is really popular in my country.

You can do this recipe on the stovetop or just use the microwave. You need boiling hot cream, and then pour it over the chocolate bars. I highly recommend using milk chocolate for this recipe. Leave it to soak in the cream for about 2 minutes to melt completely. Then stir until it is completely smooth. This becomes the chocolate ganache. Next goes in your vanilla extract to give it flavor and sweetness.

Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or even overnight. Keeping it refrigerated keeps it hardened enough for you to roll into balls. Take small scoops of the refrigerated chocolate ganache and roll into balls in between the palms of your hands. Toss the chocolate truffles into Milo powder and serve chilled. These are a really tasty treat for the cozy season so enjoy!
