Dirt cake for Halloween

by Effy A

A dirt cake resembles an Oreo pudding. This is a no-bake dessert which has been requested on social media so here it is finally up on the blog! It is so creamy and easy to make! I garnished my dirt cake with gummy worms for a Halloween look.

You will need a box of Oreos, butter, a block of cream cheese, a pack of instant pudding, icing sugar, milk and whipping cream. I start off by making Oreo crumbs from the Oreo cookies. Just pulse it in a food processor until it turns into crumbs. You could alternatively crush the Oreos in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin. The butter is whisked with the cream cheese and icing sugar until smooth. In another bowl, I whisk the cream until peaks form on the surface. So now you have whipped cream. The whipped cream is whisked with the instant pudding mix, cold milk and cream cheese mixture. Now you have a creamy pudding to layer your dirt cake with.

So I used a brownie pan to assemble the dirt cake. First goes in the Oreo crumbs, then the pudding mixture and then more Oreo crumbs are pressed unto the top of the cake. This is similar in texture to banana pudding and tiramisu so check it out on the blog!
