Aloe vera Moscow Mule with orange, strawberry and blueberries

by Effy A

This Moscow Mule is very refreshing and unique because it has Aloe vera and three fruits. I used strawberry, orange and blueberries for a summery twist. I also used grenadine syrup for a sweeter, berry finish but regular simple syrup is often used. This is tastier than my pink lemonade Moscow Mule, which has been my favorite for a long time.

First I peeled the oranges and muddled the blueberries, strawberries and oranges together before adding the remaining ingredients. I used grenadine syrup because it is derived from pomegranate and it is really fruity. Other simple syrups which would be perfect for this recipe are my strawberry syrup, brown sugar syrup and rosemary syrup. The main ingredients in a Moscow Mule are vodka, lime juice and ginger beer. I got the crushed ice by pulsing two trays of ice cubes in a blender.

Moscow Mules are typically served in copper mugs but a tall glass will do. I used a large ladle to spoon the drink into the mugs so I could collect all the fruit pieces and transfer it to the serving mug. I like tasting bits of fruit in my drink; I think it enhances the whole experience. If you don’t want to use ice, you can use frozen juice to add another dimension to your Aloe Moscow Mule.
