This green white hot chocolate is so perfect for any occasion. It’s basically equal parts white chocolate and cream boiled together on the stove top then colored with green food coloring. I added some crushed pistachios for an enhanced mouldy vibe. The mushrooms were added as a prop to make it look like a desolate pond. This white hot chocolate is literally so perfect for Halloween because it is so haunted-looking.
White chocolate is very creamy, hence the reason for choosing this chocolate flavor. You can use white chocolate chips or a white chocolate bar. If you choose the latter, the chocolate bar has to be chopped so it can melt quickly. Any type of cream would work for this recipe. However, you can also use milk. The food coloring is added last, after the heat is turned off. Stir the white hot chocolate until it is one colour and then serve immediely for best results. I used crushed pistachios to coat the surface of the hot chocolate. If you like fancy hot chocolate have a look at my peppermint hot cocoa, which uses actual peppermint candy, or my peanut butter cinnamon hot chocolate.

Ingredients
1 cup cream
1 cup white chocolate chips
Green food coloring
Crushed pistachios for a moldy appearance
Instructions
- Bring the cream to a boil in a saucepan on medium heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the white chocolate chips and stir, scraping the sides as you go along.
- Once it's smooth (all the chocolate chips have melted), check the sugar level. If it's too sweet for you just add more cream and let it boil for a bit.
- Once it's ready, turn off the heat and add in the green food coloring until the color is to your satisfaction.
- Pour into a cup and garnish with some crushed pistachio or green candy for a mouldy appearance.
