Scones with a vanilla glaze

by Effy A

Hope everyone had a delighful Christmas! I personally didn’t do much except relax during this cozy season. These scones are really delicious and perfect for the holidays. They come with an easy vanilla glaze which gives it a sweeter flavor, and is overall a great centerpiece on your dining table.

In this recipe, you will need a pastry cutter to combine all the ingredients together. Alternatively, you could use a food processsor to help you combine the butter and flour together. Let it form into a ball and then roll it out on a floured surface. Shape the dough into a circle and cut into equal triangles. I like to cut mine into 8 pieces. Place it on a large baking tray, making sure there’s sufficient space between them. Otherwise, it ends up sticking together. Scones also don’t take a very long time to bake-these were ready in just 15 minutes.

The vanilla glaze is simply made of confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Whisk these ingredients until smooth and serve over the scones once they are cooled. These scones are lovely with a hot cup of hot chocolate. I recommend my peppermint hot chocolate and white hot chocolate.
