Favorite bubble tea in Toronto

by Effy A

Follow my journey as I rake up my favorite bubble tea picks in Toronto this summer. These bubble tea joints serve teas that are refreshing, sweet and unique, and fit my taste. And they are all under $10 each so it’s a win-win all-round. My go-to bubble tea is usually regular size, 100% sugar and less ice (or sometimes no ice). I will update this list as time goes on so don’t worry if it is too short.

Gong Cha

Mango matcha milk tea (left) with strawberry green tea

These chilled teas are absolutely amazing because they are so fresh and fruity. The mango milk tea came with mango kanten jelly and the strawberry green tea came with strawberry kanten jelly which make this so much more awesome. The mango matcha milk tea was bittersweet and my absolute favorite. I ordered the regular size for both and they were $6.70 and $6.50 respectively.

Chatime

This café is super popular and has numerous locations around Toronto so it isn’t hard to find. What makes them so interesting is that their drinks are very seasonal so their menu switches up every few weeks. I have tried their crème brulée, blue sakura, passion fruit and candied winter melon bubble teas and they are so freaking delicious. They also sell delicious cakes, pastries and tarts. Don’t hesitate to grab something if you ever stop by a store.

TenRen’s Tea room

So I had never entered this shop until recently and I’d passed by it so many times in Yorkdale mall it’s crazy. This Tokyo Sakura flavor bubble tea was basically just yogurt mixed with tea. And it tasted literally like strawberry yogurt but in a drink form. It was during winter that I picked up this bubble tea at the mall. This store also serves a variety of different flavored tea bags and is so perfect for the tea connoisseur.

Benkei Hime

I took these 3 photos above in the same store. Benkei Hime recently opened downtown in Eaton Centre in the last few months because I go to Eaton Centre often. I copped the “mochi peach breeze milk tea” and it was so freaking delicious! Get two or three drinks if you can because they have many vibrant and interesting flavors like a marshmallow peach milk tea and crêpe cake milk tea. Overall, the vibe in this store is immaculate so it is top two of my good bubble tea picks in Toronto!

Freshly Squeezed

This was their taro-flavored bubble tea with tapioca and it was so creamy and fresh! This taro tea had a thick consistency like a smoothie and that’s why I loved it all the more. Hope everyone is enjoying the vibrant weather and having a lovely summer. Follow the main page for homemade recipes and more!
