Happy Hump Day! We’re halfway through the week and halfway through August, so it’s time to bring out the refreshments. If you happen to have lots of leftover wine, just add club soda and lime juice to make it a spritzer. A spritzer is basically like a watered down wine cocktail but with lots of fizz. My ginger ale spritzer uses ginger ale rather than club soda and with the white wine, it was such a fruity vibe. But this might be even better. This red wine spritzer is so perfect for the hotter weather because it is a no-fuss recipe. I added a splash of lime juice but it is completely optional. Orange juice or lemon juice would also work wonders here.
There’s literally nothing much to this except mixing the red wine with club soda and squeezing fresh lime into it. You can also use flavored soda for a much more exciting taste. I highly recommend something citrusy like an orange-flavored soda or lemonade for this red wine spritzer. The lime really takes it up a notch so it is a super important step of this spritzer recipe. Just serve this easy drink cold and fresh over ice with lime or lemon wedges, and happy drinking!
